Waxing & Threading

Your first wax: preparation, hair length and what to expect

A first wax is easier when the area, method and preparation are clear in advance. Hair needs enough growth for wax to grip, while the skin should be calm and free from anything likely to increase sensitivity.

At a glance

What matters most

  • Stop shaving early enough for the wax to grip the hair, but do not guess by trimming very short.
  • Book the exact body area and understand the difference between bikini, extended bikini and Hollywood.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and tell the salon about sensitivity or relevant products before treatment.

Before the day

There is no useful one-size-fits-all date because growth rates vary. The practical test is whether the hair is long enough to be caught by wax rather than only felt as stubble. If you are unsure, ask rather than shaving again immediately before the appointment.

Avoid booking over sunburn, cuts or an active irritated area. Tell us about recent skin treatments and topical products used on the area, particularly when they can make skin more delicate.

On the day

Arrive with clean skin and avoid applying a heavy layer of oil or body lotion to the treatment area. Comfortable, loose clothing can reduce rubbing afterwards, particularly for leg, underarm or intimate waxing.

  • Allow enough time so the appointment is not rushed.
  • Ask questions before the treatment begins.
  • Tell the practitioner immediately if heat or discomfort feels wrong.

Privacy and treatment scope

The selected service defines the area to be treated. Bikini line, extended bikini and Hollywood are different appointments. We explain the practical setup and give you privacy to prepare for the agreed service.

You remain in control. You can ask for clarification or request that treatment stops. A submitted online request is not a confirmed appointment until the salon replies with the treatment, date and time.

Common questions

Before you book

Should I trim before my wax?

Do not trim very short. If hair is unusually long and you are concerned, ask the salon for guidance before changing it.

Can I wax immediately after shaving?

Usually there will not be enough hair for wax to grip. Allow regrowth and ask if you are uncertain.

What if I feel nervous during an intimate wax?

Say so. The service and setup can be explained before beginning, and you can ask to pause or stop at any time.
