What each option is designed to do
A gel manicure prepares the natural nail and finishes it with cured gel colour. BIAB, often used as shorthand for Builder in a Bottle, is a builder-gel option that can add more structure over the natural nail or form part of an extension service.
Acrylic uses a liquid-and-powder enhancement system to create strength and length. Gel-X uses pre-shaped soft-gel tips for an extension. The right option is not simply the strongest one; it is the one that suits your natural nail, preferred length, daily routine and willingness to maintain it.

Do not peel or prise off an old product to make the appointment simpler. That can remove layers from the natural nail and make the starting condition harder to assess.

Is BIAB the same as gel polish?
No. Gel polish primarily provides a cured colour finish. BIAB is a builder-gel product used to add structure, although a colour may be applied with it.
Are Gel-X and acrylic both extensions?
They can both provide added length, but the materials and application methods differ. Existing product and the desired result should be discussed before choosing.
