At a glance
What matters most
- Follow the product-specific setting time given by the salon.
- Avoid rubbing, strong active products and unnecessary heat around the treated area initially.
- Brush and condition only with products and timing recommended for your treatment.
Immediately after the appointment
Keep lashes and brows in the intended shape and avoid pressing them into a pillow, rubbing the area or applying heavy products. Steam, very hot showers and vigorous exercise may add moisture and heat during the period when the result is settling.
Different systems have different instructions. If your appointment advice differs from an old online checklist, follow the instructions for the actual products used and contact the salon if uncertain.
Ongoing grooming
Once the advised setting period has passed, brush gently with a clean spoolie and use only suitable conditioning or makeup products. Avoid repeatedly forcing hairs into the opposite direction or using harsh cleansers over the area.
- Remove eye and brow makeup gently.
- Do not perform another chemical brow or lash service too soon.
- Ask before combining future tinting, lifting or lamination appointments.
If the area feels irritated
Mild temporary sensitivity is different from a reaction that becomes more painful, swollen, blistered or widespread. Do not keep applying new cosmetic products in an attempt to correct a worsening reaction.
Contact the salon to record what was used and seek appropriate healthcare advice. Breathing difficulty, faintness or severe rapidly developing swelling is an emergency.
Common questions
Before you book
How long must I keep lashes or brows dry?
Follow the exact setting time given for the products used at your appointment. Product systems differ, so one universal number is not reliable.
Can I use mascara after a lash lift?
Usually makeup can be reintroduced after the advised setting period, using gentle removal. Confirm the timing and suitable product with the salon.
Can I relaminate brows that will not sit correctly?
Do not immediately repeat a chemical service. Contact the salon so hair condition, timing and aftercare can be reviewed first.
